heard about a new book on the radio - (I think) it was called Secret Lives of Words - anyway, sounds really good, must look out for it. looking at roots of words and so on. i like stuff like that.
downstairs neighbour hammering a nail in (somewhere) when all our electrics went off in the whole stair! (meaning, all 5 houses in the stair, but not the stairway itself).
so a bit of running up and down checking everyone else's had gone out, and poor old downstairs neighbour worried it was his fault...
sorted now of course.
but it made me think, what would we do if we really didnt have any electricity? no internet, no tv, no radio, no music.. luckily have gas cooker, could cook, and had one or two candles, and lit the wood burning stove. and then i got the fiddle out!! sat and had a muck about on it first time for a couple of years.
oh oh looks like blogger connection is going funny this might all get lost. will stop now.

Secret Lives of Words sounds interesting...must look out for it over here. My current bedtime reading is Fiske's Word Power- learn 1,000 words in weeks. Very addictive!

And as long as I had a fireplace to burn wood in and a gas lamp to read by, I wouldn't miss the electricity much at all, I don't think.
Keep warm, honey.
