i missed the Samhuinn parade last night - i usually hang out my window and see them all - but i was out elsewhere. have a wee video i took in 2006, on a tiny pix camera not very good, but gives a bit of an idea. after 4 hours uploading it igot fed up and cancelled.
the Beltane Fire Society website (click this blog's title) has info about the fire festivals, and how Samhuinn originated and turned into what is now called 'Halloween'. (some say 'savin', some say 'sawen', probably other pronounciations as well).
so today, a few of us are off to Pitlochry to the Perthshire Amber Festival.. the sun is shining and it all seems far away from a night of hobgoblins and weird beings.
